State Fair Artwork

Congratulations to the following students for placing in the South Texas State Fair! The Hamshire-Fannett teachers and staff voted for their top four favorites out of a huge list of art. I have included all participants. I am proud of all of those who put their work out their for people to judge. It takes a great deal of courage, so if you see one of these students, please tell them how proud of them you are.

February Artist Grace Bourque

The silent ones are the most observant ones. Grace Bourque is no exception to this rule. Her work is marvelously meticulous. No detail escapes her perception. We have an ongoing joke about the number of pieces that involve animals, but really shouldn't you draw what you know and love? She's not one to draw attention to herself, so I wanted to make a point of showing off for her. Her innate talent unfolds beautifully from sketch to realized art. I hope you enjoy her offerings as much as I have!

January Artist Mary Kuhn

Artist for the month of January is Mary Kuhn. There's nothing cold about this girl, she's on fire! Her artwork is taking a more theatrical turn as the year progresses. She is heavily involved in dance outside of school, and you can definitely see the influence it has had on her artwork. I am looking forward to another year with Mary as an AP art student. I believe we can expect great things from her. Enjoy!
